No School

Prince Edward County Public Schools were closed for five years. In this remarkable collection of testimonies, the author interviewed over 160 people who were directly impacted by the closing and the landmark case, Brown v Board of Education.
 
Sally Ward: “The school closing impacted my life as a parent by my kids couldn’t go to school. It hurt me real bad.”
 
Grace Logan: “When school closed, I would have been in the 12th grade. When I head that school had closed, I was very upset, I couldn’t understand why they would close the school. When school reopened, I did not go back, I continued working.”
